Skilled persons have at least acquired a lower education level of electrical proficiency
by training and/or experience. They are responsible for performing their own tasks
and shall be able to account for their actions. They usually work independently under
indirect supervision and sometimes under direct supervision.

Each electrical installation shall be placed under the responsibility of a person,

There shall be available up-to-date drawings and records for the electrical installation.

NEN-EN-IEC 60204-1, for the necessary schedules and drawings.

Measurement instruments shall be fitted with provisions to prevent hazards in the
event of faulty operation or faulty connection.

NEN 3140 is gericht op het voldoen aan de Nederlandse arbowetgeving in het kader van elektrische veiligheid. Dat betekent dat de werkgever op de best mogelijke wijze zeker moet stellen dat het elektrische arbeidsmiddel waarmee hij zijn werknemer laat werken, elektrisch veilig is voor de gebruikelijke werkomstandigheden in de desbetreffende branche.
