Because of the instruction they have received, instructed persons are able to avoid
electrical hazards during their work activities. They may, after instruction, carry
out company-specific electrical work activities for which the electrical risks are
limited.
NOTE 1 Nominating instructed persons is important to ensure efficient operation.

A general procedure may be established in writing for identical recurring work activities
with identical risks. This procedure shall be understood and complied with by all
those involved.
4.5 Work location
The work location shall be defined and marked clearly.
At all parts of an electrical installation on, with, or near which any work activity
is to be carried out shall be provided:
— means of access;
— adequate working space;
— means of lighting;
— escape routes.
Suitable precautions shall be taken to prevent injury to persons from other hazards
that are present
4.6 Tools, equipment and devices
Tools, equipment and devices shall comply with the requirements of relevant European,
National or International Standards where these exist.
NOTE 1 Examples of tools, equipment and devices are:
— insulating boots, gloves and overshoes;
— eye or face protection;
— head protection;
— suitable protective clothing;
— insulating mats, platforms and stands;
4.8 Signs
When necessary, during any work or operations adequate signs shall be displayed to
draw attention to any relevant hazard. The signs shall comply with relevant European,
National or International Standards where these exist.

5.2 Operating activities

Als trainer en adviseur NEN 3140, werk ik nu alweer een paar weken met de nieuwe NEN 3140 + A2 (December 2018). Deze nieuwe NEN 3140 is sterk doorontwikkeld.
